Can my spouse and I resolve issues without the intervention of the Court?
Yes. Spouses are always encouraged to resolve the issues of their divorce between themselves, either by mutual agreement or with the help of a mediator. Any agreement formulated should be in writing, signed by both spouses, and later filed with the Court - usually incorporated into the final Judgment. However, in the event spouse's are not able to reach an amicable solution to the various issues, the Court will be required to intervene and make appropriate orders based upon California law.
